How to hide windows and programs
Hide windows and programs
To hide windows and running programs:
At first you should add your windows and programs in 'Hide windows and programs' list and put check mark in 'Select' column.
To hide your window(s) and/or program(s) you should:
- use 'Hide selected windows and programs' hotkey combination (by default Alt + 1);
- or double-click Hide Any Window desktop icon and click 'Hide' icon in the toolbar;
- or right-click Hide Any Window tray icon and select 'Hide selected windows and programs' item

Restore hidden windows
To go on your work with hidden windows and programs, you can simply restorethem
To restore hidden windows:
- use 'Show hidden programs and windows' hotkey combination (by default Alt + 2);
- or double-click Hide Any Window tray icon and click 'Show' icon in the toolbar
Minimize all windows
Hide Any Window provides an easy way to escape cluttering on your desktop - you can easily minimize all windows.
To minimize all windows:
- press 'Minimize All Windows' hotkey combination (by default Alt + 3)
Close browsers
To close browser:
- press 'Close browsers' hotkey combination (by default Alt + 4)
'Hide windows and programs' list
To hide windows and running programs you should add them to 'Hide windows and programs' list.

For more convenience Hide Any Window has a built-in 'Hide windows and programs' list that includes some often used applications: Internet Explorer, MSN Explorer, Maxthon, Firefox, Mozilla, Opera, Netscape, Windows Media Player, DVD Player, QuickTime Player and MSN Messenger.
How to add program to "Hide windows and programs" list
Double-click on Hide Any Window desktop icon.
Select 'Tools' in the toolbar and select 'What to hide'.

Click 'Add' button.
Put the radio button for 'Hide Program'.
Select what you want to hide - 'Hide program window' and/or 'Hide tray icon'.

Use 'Select from running programs and opened windows' button or 'Select from running programs in system tray' button or 'Browse' button to select the necessary program. If you want, you may enter program full path manually.

Tips: To escape mistakes while entering information, we recommend you to use 'Select from running programs and opened windows' or 'Select from running programs in system tray' or 'Browse' buttons.

If you use 'Select from running programs and opened windows list' button or 'Select from running programs in system tray' button, just select the necessary program from 'Programs' list.

Note:
- For more convenience, next to 'Programs' column there are columns with programs' icons and titles.
- if you want your program or window is shown in 'Running programs and opened windows' list, you should run your program or open the necessary program window.

In 'Hide rule ...' area select 'Program full path' or 'Program name' option.
|
Note:
- 'Program full path' option is useful if the same program is installed in several different locations.
- For Windows 98 and Windows ME you can use only 'Program name' option.

Put the check mark for 'Use this rule' option.
Click 'Save' button.
How to add window to "Hide window and programs" list
If you want to determine 'hide rule' based on window or program's title:
Double-click on Hide Any Window desktop icon.
Select 'Tools' in program toolbar and select 'What to hide'.

Click 'Add' button.
Put the radio button for 'Hide Window'.

You may select window or program's title using 'Select from running programs and opened windows' button or enter it manually. |

Note:
- For more convenience, next to "Window title" column there are columns with programs' full paths and programs' icons
- If you want your program or window is shown in 'Running programs and opened windows list', you should run your program or open the necessary window.

Select condition for window title (contains, doesn't contain, equals, doesn't equal, begins with, ends with).
Put the check mark for 'Use this rule' option.
Click "Save".
Modify 'hide window/hide program' rule
Double-click Hide Any Window desktop icon.
Select 'Tools' in program toolbar and select 'What to Hide' item.
Click 'Modify' button.
Make necessary changes and click 'Save'.
Click 'OK'.
Delete window/program from "Hide Windows and Programs" list
Double-click Hide Any Window desktop icon.
Select 'Tools' in program toolbar and select 'What to Hide' item.
Click 'Delete' button.
Click 'Yes' if you really want to delete the rule.
